Like #7 🙂 My experience as well — suffocating actually…
I’m in solid agreement with all but one of these points #7.
It seems to me that anything I know that cannot be qualified by science is spiritual.
Some people hold that spirituality springs from religion. I disagree.
Our native spirituality stems from Earth Energy; the vibrations and stabilizing force of our planet. First and foremost, we are all Earthlings.
I’ve explained myself fully in my book, “Earthen Spirituality”
I suspect that the “being lived by” rather than “I am living” living as mentioned by Jean Klein is actually the consciousness of Gaia, Earth.
We are part of a holarchy and Gaia is our next higher structure. I don’t wish to fully explain holarchy at this time.
Thanks for your comment Sky!
What I am referring to is the circumstance in which the raft becomes a form of baggage, or when what was meant to serve as medicine becomes instead one’s food. In other words, it can become a subtle or not-so-subtle way to fixate an identity (i.e. “I am a Buddhist” or “I am a Christian”, etc.). All identities, even so-called “spiritual” ones, end up being schemes to confirm one’s enduring and independent existence, if one imputes a substantial reality to them. No identity is true, they are all conceptual designations.
Oh, thanks, I understand now.
My own experience is that “spirituality” – in all its forms – has actually been suffocating “me” (my spirit, my expression of Pure Beingness.) Words cannot accurately say what exactly has been suffocated here. But I think you know what I mean… There ends up being a kind of constraint, or containment of that which wants to express *because of* the conformity to an “identity” let’s say. I found this to be true even in the “identity” of “non-duality.” The *idea* or concept of “non-duality” then becomes an obstruction to the freedom of Pure Awareness that is already here, because we are trying to fit it into a mold called “non-duality.” At least this has been my experience…
Thank you so much for this elaboration, Christine — very much appreciated and resonant!
